Love the "Who has the Best Parents Contest" at school. Sadly, Isaac is not the winner.
Isaac also has a piano recital coming up very soon. Is he ready?
Take a wild guess...
Did we have a rough morning pondering the lack of time for the assignments allotted?
Take a wild guess...
Jackson sleeps in as long as possible most mornings, lately. He is hungry all the time ( still hates everything offered him), and wants to live outside. He's the equivalent of a caveman. ( except cavemen eat what they are offered). His demeanor matches as well. Sadly. He still loves his blankie or "soft" as he calls it. It has seen better days. It looks more like gauze than a blanket.
Corbin has the most bruises one child can foster. His legs look like the apple I fished out of the bottom of my diaper bag. Brown spots everywhere. Too bad it's shorts season. He argues EVERYTHING. I run away from him. I know, real mature. No, he isn't starving. He is also addicted to band aids-hence the sticky residue. Nasty stuff. (He has one on his head too)
Brody has a staff infection. It looked like a nasty diaper rash, so I kept trying to treat the dang thing. Finally, I took him to the doctor and he gave me some oral antibiotic. Guess what the side effects are? Diahrea. Now he is REALLY going to be feelin' the effects of that "Rash". He is handling it surprisingly well. He's standing, not walking yet, thank heaven. He is finally weaned and using a bottle/sippy very well. Treadmills are much easier to handle now :). He is a happy yeller. He mumbles while he eats and growls himself to sleep. My most vocal child to date. Heaviest too. He still sucks on his one favorite pointer
( which is somewhat shriveled from the continual moisture). He also can't live without his monkey blanket. The tassels go hand in hand with finger sucking. He loves his brothers more and more everyday. Especially when they are lying on the floor. He likes to head but people to show affection. It's amusing now, but could end badly when that noggin gets to be Prestwich size.
David has been polishing his golfing skills. He was invited to join in two tournaments this coming week. I am glad for him to spend some time doing the thing he loves. Besides, the weather is perfect. His work is busy, but that's a good thing isn't it?
I'm still working out 4-5 days a week and really require it for sanity anymore. The kids keep me pretty busy besides that. We do get to walk the town a lot now that the sun is out. I gotta say, the boys are pretty good to keep up on their scooters while I push the baby all around. Where to? Farmer's market, the local bakery, parks, Isaac's school, the U of I campus. Main street. The fountain on friendship square. Ahhh- the life of a pampered housewife.
Our plans for the summer include :
lots of camping
additional lanscaping on the yard
pool attendance
lots of bike riding, walking, and scootering
fishing
canning
golfing
possible karate classes for children ( depending on their promises not to kick each other in the head)
We will see how these intentions pan out at the end of the summer, eh?

i am going to keep my comments to myself about making your gifted son take responsibility for his project and get it done himself.
or maybe i'm not.
this post cracked me up, especially the bandaids.
does it absolutely HAVE to be a carving or pinata? i mean, those are lovely ideas but...modeling clay is lovely too. OR make insect shaped cookies, and have him tell the kids, "this is what a bug tastes like to a gecko." he will be more popular, and cookies are easy to make. i am so proud of me for this suggestion!
