Summer camping trips

We took our children camping on four seperate occasions this summer, and while I only have a few pictures to prove it, I do have the worn out trailer and smoky smelling sleeping bags to prove it. We went with our friends the Gomez family every single time. We should probably branch out...nah.

Look how happy Frank is to be our only friend.

Here is their adorable little guy Sam with Brody and Hailey.
The boys worked on this impressive fort on one outing. It was fairly waterprooof, which was nice because we got totally rained out. Had it not been for the fort, we would have been soaked
( so the boys would like to believe). And the inside...so dark and homey.
( this stems from our family's neverending obsession with Bear Gryllis on Man VS. Wild. Maybe it's just my own obsession (we won't go there))
One of our trips included our boys putting a raft together out of sticks in hopes of a free ride down the river. Upon placement in the water, however, none chose to ride upon it. Shocking! We swam in rivers, sat on beaches, caught crawdads and released them back into the wild, and roasted countless marshmallows. The boys rode their bikes on trails and David was able to sneak in some early morning fishing a few times. All in all, a good summer of camping trips. Also-we fell in love with dutch oven cooking and hope to purchase our very own by next summer. I can smell the meatloaf already...
