There's gold in them thar hills!!

I don't know if you can make them out in this picture, but we found the motherload for huckleberry picking yesterday. I dropped Brody off at a babysitter, and took the three older kids, along with my friend, Julie and her three kids ( one on the way!) to pick huckleberries. We came out with a pretty good haul, considering the "helpful" nature of the six children.

A couple of hours' work.

The workers.

After several hours of picking on one of the hottest days of the summer, we took the kids to a small local dam at Laird Park.
They swam and cooled off. Isaac even jumped off the bridge.
They came home too exhausted to lift a finger. David came home from work and asked Isaac,
who is usually helpful,
to do some small favor, and he broke into tears-too tired to do a thing.
Poor kid.
In my defense, he wanted to stay longer, so no fingers pointing this way, please!
I was pretty worn out too, so we had huckleberry shakes for dinner! Yum!
