My camera is missing. Wah! Despite this, I have decided to continue blogging for a while until it turns up or a new one lands on my doorstep.
Isaac had another recital. It went great. He played Turkey in the Straw and a Horse Goes By. He was fun to watch, but the best part was the pathetically shy bow at the end. I love that look.
We went ahead and signed Jackson and Isaac up for hockey. I have a feeling we are in for a busy winter. They love it and it gets them out of the house in the winter, so we feel good about it. Corbin and Brody love to watch and play around at the rink too, so the downside of dragging them along is not really proving to be a strong argument.
Thanksgiving was a blast. We packed enough to survive for half a year and hightailed it to grandma Prestwich's house. I didn't want to leave. Family, fabulous food, good shopping and adoration for my children. Can't beat it. We took the kids to a hockey game ( let's hope my kids don't end up wacking each other's heads off in the near future-like the pros) and Isaac got a little lesson in woodturning. He even made a pen out of wood! Jackson and Isaac spent the night with their aunt and uncle without me ( gasp!). They must be all grown up because they didn't bat an eye at my sad face as I left the house. Sad. Just sad.
Corbin had everyone crying when he asked his grandmother where her dad was. She replied that he passed away. He then asked where David's dad was and she replied with the same answer. Corbin smile widely and offered up
" You can share my dad if you want to!" Brody slept well, acted like a happy drunk when he was tired and ate up everything in sight. You have never seen a more content baby running around his grandmother's house.
David has been horribly sick for a good long time and finally, FINALLY, he went to the doctor today. The diagnosis is a mouthful. He is currently suffering from two severe ear infections, a sinus infection and pneumonia. Poor man. I am surprised the doc didn't drag him to the hospital. Needless to stay he is on some pretty strong stuff and recovering at home for a while before he runs back to work.
Most importantly, today is my birthday. The boys were so sweet. Isaac gave me some coupons for FREE work ( because he always requires money for help?) around the house. Gonna hang on to those babies! Jackson colored me a very green picture because it's my favorite color, of course, and Corbin promised to go to bed without a fight for my present. He even followed through. David, sick as a dog, found the energy to produce a cake for me. If you could see how hard it is for him to step foot out of the house, you would realize how kind this was. My sister also ran over and brought me a huge jello cake covered in chocolate drizzles and strawberries. It was so pretty. I ate half of both cakes. I feel sick. Lucky to have such wonderful people in my life, but sick just the same.
