Corbin's birthday was yesterday! My baby is four.
We had a few friends over for dinner and card games to boot ( actually, we helped out my visiting teacher by letting her get the job done at our house :)).
I just want to point out that four is a fabulous age for easy pleasing.
This kid was overjoyed to simply have a balloon
( in order for his attempt to make a lego man fly, or course!)
and a cupcake with a candle.
Our friends brought a few trinkets to spread the love, but I truly believe he would not have noticed if he hadn't received a single thing.
If only every person was so easily satisfied! In a world where having what you need is never enough, it is refreshing to be reminded of the uncomplicated joys in life.
( we, of course, plan to throw a little get together with his friends, in the near future, but in the meantime, we are just happy to know our little four year old can be so good natured)
Here are four great reasons to love having this kid in our family:
1) Corbin is funny. He makes us laugh. ( at church, on long car rides, at family get togethers, in public places...you name it)
2) Corbin can entertain himself for very long lengths of time. He has a wonderful imagination and is happy to use it. ( For example, he made his mom zip him into a duffel bag with a flashlight and goldfish today. He spent nearly an hour in there...despite mom's fear of trauma)
3) Corbin is tough and won't let anyone push him around. He stands up for himself and has a pretty good sense of confidence for a kid his age. ( I guess you have to have this ability when you have two older brothers to contend with)
4) Corbin is a great conversationalist. He has valid opinions and a brain to back them up. ( He is our only child, as of yet to speak sentences before the age of three. Boy, does it make life easier)
We are so proud of you Corbin. We love you!
